Heiner received his formal art training in Hamburg, Germany.  He immigrated to the USA in 1965 and currently resides in Milford, Michigan.

Versatile is the word that most aptly describes this artist and sculptor.  He creates art in a wide variety of media. Carefully rendered watercolors, outdoor 'Plein-air' paintings, loose impressionistic oil paintings, and sculptures ranging from small scale to life size, are all products of this multi-talented artist.

Heiner is a member of the prestigious Society of Animal Artists.

Heiner's newest venture is a PBS television series, "Your Brush with Nature" presently in it's third year.
